The Airwrap i.d. is the one we would buy. Tom's Guide made it an Editor's Choice and TechRadar called it the best hair styler on the market. The i.d. curl button runs the curl sequence for you and switches direction on the same barrel, which takes most of the practice out of a tool that has a reputation for a learning curve. It suits straight to wavy hair and anyone buying a first Airwrap.
Pick the Curly+Coily kit below if you want to keep a natural curl pattern, or the Co-anda2x if weight matters more than price.
At $499.99 in Ceramic Pink, it is about $90 under its 90-day average and at its lowest price of the past year. Other colors cost about $650 when we checked, and the Amber Silk version dipped to about $455 in September, so a Black Friday price could still go lower.

Dyson Airwrap i.d. Curly+Coily (Ceramic Pink/Rose Gold)

This is the same i.d. body and curl button with attachments chosen for curls and coils, including a diffuser and a wide-tooth comb. Tom's Guide's tester gave this kit five stars and rated its heat control the best of any styler they had used. If you have curly hair and want an Airwrap, this is the kit, not the Straight+Wavy one.
TechRadar notes that results vary by hair type, and its review of the 2022 Airwrap found the older model less suited to Type 4 hair. If your hair is tightly coiled, keep the box and check your return date.
At $499.99 in Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold, it is about $84 under its 90-day average and at its lowest price of the past year. The Amber Silk version was $649.99 with a delayed ship date when we checked, though it sold for about $455 in early October.

The FlexStyle is the Airwrap rival every tested roundup we read put first. BestReviews called it the best Airwrap alternative by far, and Expert Reviews called it the first real rival. We chose the HD440 kit because it includes a diffuser, so it covers curly hair as well as straight. Its handle also twists straight, turning it into an ordinary dryer.
Reviewers still gave Dyson the edge on curls: in PureWow's side-by-side test, the Airwrap's lasted longer. The Shark is louder, and you swap between separate left and right curl barrels rather than pressing a button.
At $249.99 from Amazon, it is about $78 under its 90-day average and half the price of the Airwrap i.d. It fell to about $195 on Cyber Monday last year, so that is the number to beat.

Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x (2026 Model) Straight+Wavy

The Co-anda2x is Dyson's newest Airwrap. Marie Claire puts it at about 0.9 lb against 1.4 lb for the i.d., the handle is smaller, and Dyson says it pushes twice the air pressure. It also recognizes each attachment automatically, and the 2026 Straight+Wavy kit adds the Air Straightener 2x for smoothing without a flat iron. It suits people who style every day and want the lightest tool.
The case against it comes from testers. TechRadar found the buttons small and fiddly, and comparison tests by Test-Achats in Belgium and netzwelt in Germany still preferred the i.d. Its attachments do not fit older Airwraps.
This is not a deal. At $749 it is less than a dollar under list and has not sold for less on Amazon in the past year, and Dyson did not discount the Co-anda2x last Black Friday.

Dyson Airwrap Origin (Nickel/Copper)

The Origin is the stripped-back Airwrap: one 1.2-inch barrel, a round brush and a flyaway attachment, with the same Coanda curling and drying as the i.d. Tom's Guide gave it 4.5 stars. It suits anyone who wants Dyson's curls and blowouts without a drawer of attachments, and its pieces fit the i.d. and 2022 Airwrap if you add more later.
The catch right now is price. At $549.99 it is at its usual price and costs $50 more than the Ceramic Pink Airwrap i.d., which has more attachments and the curl button. We would not buy it at that price. It sold for about $400 a year ago, and at that level it is a good way into the Airwrap range.

Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x (2026 Model) Curly+Coily

This is the lighter Co-anda2x body with the curly and coily kit. Buro 24/7's tester liked the tighter curls from its smaller barrels but found they dropped sooner than the i.d.'s. It shares the Straight+Wavy model's small, easy-to-bump buttons, and its attachments only fit the Co-anda2x. The listing has only a few dozen owner ratings, too few to say much about long-term reliability.
Buy it only if the lighter body matters to you more than $250 does. At $749.99 it is at full price and has not sold for less on Amazon in the past year. For most curly hair, the Airwrap i.d. Curly+Coily above is the better buy.

How to choose a Dyson Airwrap this Black Friday
Choose the kit for your hair, then compare colors. Straight+Wavy and Curly+Coily kits share the same motor body, but the attachments differ, and the wrong kit means buying pieces later. Once you know the kit, check every color: when we checked, the same i.d. kit cost $499.99 in one color and $649.99 in others.
Decide whether the Co-anda2x is worth $250 more. It is lighter and adds an air-straightening attachment, but testers in two European comparisons preferred the i.d. For most people, the i.d. is the better use of the money.
Mind attachment compatibility. Attachments for the 2022 Airwrap, the Origin and the i.d. fit each other. The Co-anda2x uses its own, so an upgrade from an older Airwrap means starting over.
Ignore the list price. Judge a deal by what the Airwrap sold for over the past 90 days and its 12-month low, which we quote in every Pick. The i.d. has averaged close to $590 lately, so $499.99 is a real saving and $649.99 is not.
Buy from Amazon or Dyson, and check the return date. Counterfeit Airwraps turn up from third-party sellers, and a counterfeit will not be covered by Dyson's two-year warranty. Amazon usually extends returns over the holidays, but confirm the date on your order page, since how an Airwrap works on your hair is hard to judge before you try it.
