Designer perfume rarely sells at its list price, so a Black Friday discount only counts if it beats what a bottle has actually sold for lately. A month out, four of our eight Picks are already below that line, led by Lancôme La Vie Est Belle at about $24 under its 90-day average. The other four sit at or above their usual prices, though Ariana Grande Cloud fell by about a third around Cyber Monday last year.
We checked every price against its 90-day average and 12-month low on Amazon, not the list price. Where a bottle is not discounted, or is sold by a third-party seller rather than Amazon, its Pick says so.
Our picks at a glance
8 deals1.The one bottle most people should own: lavender and orange blossom that work day or night. About $15 under its 90-day average.
2.A sweet, long-lasting iris and praline classic, and the biggest saving here at about $24 under its 90-day average.
3.Our evening pick: tuberose and cocoa in the stiletto bottle. Above its usual price right now; it fell under $100 last winter.
4.The cheapest perfume we would buy: airy lavender, pear and coconut. At its usual price now; it fell to about $50 last Cyber Monday.
5.A quiet, unisex skin scent for offices and people who dislike perfume. At its usual price, which has barely moved all year.
6.Smoky chestnut and vanilla for fall, and an easy unisex gift. About $16 under its 90-day average and near its 12-month low.
7.Our luxury pick: a lush floral with all-day staying power. About $12 under its 90-day average; it sold for less in August.
8.A warm vanilla and cocoa gourmand rated 4.6 stars by 13,000 Amazon owners. Not discounted now; it sold for half this price in March.

#1Best overall
YSL Libre Eau de Parfum (3 oz)
by Yves Saint Laurent
Libre is the bottle we would buy if we could own only one. It sets lavender against orange blossom over a warm vanilla base, so it reads as polished at a desk and still has enough warmth for dinner. Escentual's reviewer found it hard to place in a single fragrance family, which is part of why it works as a gift, and Parfumo's community rates its staying power near the top of the scale. Skip it if lavender reminds you of soap; a few owners say the opening does.
Read the box carefully: YSL sells several Libre flankers (Intense, Le Parfum, L'Eau Nue) that smell different. We link the 3 oz eau de parfum that Amazon sells itself, at about $142, roughly $15 under its 90-day average. It fell to about $112 in early November last year, and that is the price we would hold out for.
Pros
- +Lavender and orange blossom that suit work and evenings
- +Long wear, rated near the top by Parfumo users
- +Hard to dislike, which makes it a safe gift
Cons
- −The lavender opening smells soapy to some
- −Several flankers with near-identical names
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3 fl oz (90 ml)
- Scent family
- Floral lavender
- Key notes
- Lavender, orange blossom, vanilla

#2
Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau de Parfum (3.4 oz)
by Lancôme
La Vie Est Belle is for people who want a perfume others notice. The iris and praline accord is sweet and lasts well into the evening, and Parfumo users rate both its longevity and its projection above average. That strength is also the reason to skip it: in a small office or a car, two sprays fill the space, and its sweetness divides opinion more than Libre does. If you like the style but want something lighter and cheaper, Ariana Grande Cloud below is in the same family.
This is the biggest saving we found. At about $125, it is roughly $24 under its 90-day average and about $10 above its lowest price of the past year. A third-party seller, not Amazon, had the offer when we checked, so check the seller line, and make sure the listing is the spray bottle, not the refill.
Pros
- +Long-lasting, with strong projection
- +Warm iris and praline signature
- +Rated 4.6 stars from more than 30,000 Amazon reviews
Cons
- −Too sweet for some noses
- −Can fill a small room or a car
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Sweet floral
- Key notes
- Iris, praline, vanilla

#3
Carolina Herrera Good Girl Eau de Parfum (2.7 oz)
by Carolina Herrera
Good Girl is our evening pick. Tuberose and jasmine sit on cocoa and tonka bean, and the result is rich enough that Macy's reviewers rate it as heavy and best for nights out. The stiletto-shaped bottle also makes it one of the easiest perfumes here to wrap. Skip it if you want something for the office, where it can feel heavy, or if you prefer a scent that changes over the day; some owners find it settles into one note.
It is not a deal right now. At $164 from a third-party seller, it costs about $8 more than its 90-day average, and it sold for under $100 at the end of December last year. We would wait for Black Friday week before buying this one.
Pros
- +Rich tuberose, cocoa and tonka for evenings
- +Stiletto-shaped bottle makes an easy gift
- +Rated 4.7 stars from more than 8,000 Amazon reviews
Cons
- −Heavy for daytime wear
- −Smells one-note to some after the opening
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 2.7 fl oz (80 ml)
- Scent family
- Amber floral
- Key notes
- Tuberose, jasmine, cocoa, tonka bean

#4Best budget
Ariana Grande Cloud Eau de Parfum (3.4 oz)
by Ariana Grande
Cloud is the least expensive perfume we would recommend, and the most reviewed bottle on this list, with nearly 34,000 Amazon ratings. It opens with lavender and pear and dries down to whipped coconut and praline. It is often sold as a stand-in for Baccarat Rouge 540, which costs several times as much, but Osmoz's reviewers found the resemblance partial, so buy it because you like it rather than as a copy. Expect four to eight hours of wear, less than La Vie Est Belle.
At $75 from Amazon, it sits at its usual price. It fell to about $50 around Cyber Monday last year, so this is one to check again on November 30.
Pros
- +Airy lavender and pear over whipped coconut
- +Rated 4.6 stars from nearly 34,000 Amazon reviews
- +Easy to wear for fans of sweet scents
Cons
- −Fades in four to eight hours
- −Not a close match for Baccarat Rouge 540
- −Too sugary for some
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Gourmand
- Key notes
- Lavender, pear, coconut, praline

Juliette Has a Gun Not a Perfume (3.3 oz)
by Juliette Has a Gun
Not a Perfume is for people who dislike perfume, sit near people who do, or react to heavy scents. It is built on a single ingredient, the ambergris-style molecule Cetalox, so it smells like clean, warm skin rather than flowers or sugar, and reads as neither masculine nor feminine. Everfumed calls it the brand's best scent. The catch is that some people cannot smell Cetalox on themselves at all, and PureWow's editors found it too faint for anyone who wants their perfume to register. For a unisex scent with more presence, see By the Fireplace below.
At $150 from Amazon, it is at its usual price, and its lowest price of the past year was only $7.50 less. Its price has barely moved all year.
Pros
- +Clean, subtle skin scent
- +Unisex
- +Suits offices and fragrance-sensitive wearers
Cons
- −Some people cannot smell it on themselves
- −Needs reapplying during the day
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3.3 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Musky skin scent
- Key notes
- Cetalox (ambroxan)

#6
Maison Margiela Replica By the Fireplace (3.4 oz)
by Maison Margiela
By the Fireplace is the cold-weather pick and the easiest unisex gift on this list. Clove and roasted chestnut over smoky woods and vanilla smell much like the name suggests. Temptalia's Christine Mielke found traces of it after 12 hours, which is long for an eau de toilette, though it sits close to the skin after the first hour. The smoky opening is too much for some people, and it feels out of place by spring.
At about $145 from a third-party seller, it is roughly $16 under its 90-day average and within $5 of its lowest price of the past year. That makes it one of the better-timed purchases here, provided the seller checks out.
Pros
- +Smoky chestnut and vanilla made for cold weather
- +Lasts far longer than most eau de toilettes
- +Works as a unisex gift
Cons
- −Sits close to the skin after the first hour
- −The smoky opening is strong for some
- −Feels out of place in warm weather
- Concentration
- Eau de toilette
- Size
- 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Smoky woody
- Key notes
- Clove, chestnut, smoke, vanilla

#7Best premium
Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum (3.4 oz)
by Viktor&Rolf
Flowerbomb is the statement bottle. Jasmine, orange blossom and rose sit over patchouli and a candied sweetness, and it lasts all day: one Parfumo reviewer scored its longevity 10 out of 10 and warned readers about its projection. Buy it for someone who already wears rich florals. Skip it if you share a desk or want something quiet, and know that some longtime wearers say it smells different since a reformulation.
At about $155 from a third-party seller, it is about $12 under its 90-day average. It sold for about $127 in August, so there is room for a deeper cut.
Pros
- +All-day longevity
- +Lush jasmine, orange blossom and rose
- +Big presence for evenings and occasions
Cons
- −Projection can overwhelm
- −Reformulation complaints from longtime wearers
- −The 3.4 oz bottle is not refillable
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Floral gourmand
- Key notes
- Jasmine, orange blossom, rose, patchouli

#8
Billie Eilish Eilish Eau de Parfum (3.4 oz)
by Billie Eilish
Eilish is the mid-priced gourmand, for readers who like Cloud's sweetness but want something warmer. Sugared petals open into vanilla, cocoa and musk, and owners regularly praise how long it lasts on skin. PureWow's editors liked the bottle and the vegan formula. Skip it if candy-sweet vanilla is not your thing, since that is the most common complaint, and the chocolate note splits opinion. Fans of La Vie Est Belle who want something less expensive should try it.
At $82 from Amazon, it costs about $2 more than its 90-day average, and it sold for $41 in March. We would wait for a discount before buying.
Pros
- +Warm vanilla, cocoa and musk
- +Owners praise how long it lasts
- +Vegan formula in a bottle that looks expensive
Cons
- −Candy-sweet vanilla
- −The chocolate note splits opinion
- Concentration
- Eau de parfum
- Size
- 3.4 fl oz (100 ml)
- Scent family
- Gourmand
- Key notes
- Sugared petals, vanilla, cocoa, musk

How to choose perfume this Black Friday
Pick the scent family before the brand. If you like fresh and clean, start with Not a Perfume. For sweet, look at La Vie Est Belle, Cloud and Eilish; for rich florals, Good Girl and Flowerbomb; for smoky and warm, By the Fireplace. Libre sits between families, which is why it is our first pick.
Choose eau de parfum if you want it to last. Seven of our eight Picks are eau de parfum, which holds more fragrance oil than eau de toilette and usually wears longer. Compare bottle sizes too: Good Girl's 2.7 oz bottle holds about a fifth less than a 3.4 oz bottle, so its price stretches less far.
Check who is selling it. Perfume is a common target for counterfeits, and four of our Picks were sold by third-party sellers when we checked. Buy from Amazon.com or the brand's own store where you can, and read the seller's rating when you cannot.
Ignore the list price. The struck-through number on a card is often a price nobody has paid in months. Judge a deal by what the bottle sold for over the past 90 days and by its 12-month low, which we quote in each Pick. Last year Libre and La Vie Est Belle were cheapest in early November and Cloud around Cyber Monday, so keep checking through the month.
Read the name twice. Most of these perfumes have flankers with nearly the same name and a different scent, plus refills and gift sets. Check the full name and size on the listing before you order.
How we chose these perfume deals
Every deal on this page was selected and checked by Ed Hollinghurst. We start from products with a strong track record in independent reviews and owner feedback, then compare the current Black Friday price against the product's typical selling price over the past months, not just the inflated list price. A deal only makes the cut if the product is genuinely good and the discount is real.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon.com at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.
