This year's PS5 Black Friday deals start from a higher base. Sony raised US console prices in April, and when we checked in late October Amazon itself had no PS5 console in stock at all. Accessories are a different story: the Pulse Explore earbuds are at their lowest Amazon price of the past year, and the DualSense, Portal and DualSense Edge each sold for $20 to $70 less around Black Friday last year.
We checked each price against what the Product sold for on Amazon over the past 90 days and its lowest price of the past year, not the list price. Where a Pick is not discounted, or comes from a third-party seller, we say so.
Our picks at a glance
6 deals1.The second controller every PS5 home ends up buying. At its usual price now; it fell to $54 on Thanksgiving last year.
2.Plays your PS5 library on an 8-inch screen anywhere your Wi-Fi reaches. At its usual price; it sold for about $179 last November.
3.Planar-driver earbuds that connect to a PS5 or Portal and a phone at once, at their lowest Amazon price of the past year.
4.Sony's pro controller, with stick modules you replace when drift sets in. At its usual price; it was about $160 last November.
5.A SoundGuys pick for PS5, with about 49 hours per charge. About $150 from a third-party seller now; it sold for $109 in May, so we would wait.
6.Adds a 4K Blu-ray drive to a slim PS5 Digital Edition or a PS5 Pro. It has not been discounted on Amazon in the past year.

PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller (Midnight Black)
by PlayStation
A second DualSense is the PS5 purchase that suits the most readers. Anyone who plays with family or friends needs one, and it is the PlayStation item Amazon discounts most reliably. Many PS5 games are designed around its haptics and adaptive triggers. It sits at rank 1 because Amazon had no console at a fair price when we checked; if that changes, a console moves to the top.
Stick drift is the long-standing complaint, with Push Square among the outlets reporting it. The DualSense Edge below has replaceable sticks if that worries you.
At about $74 from Amazon, it costs what it has sold for over the past 90 days. It dropped to $54 on Thanksgiving last year, and that is the price we would wait for.
Pros
- +Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that PS5 games are built around
- +Built-in microphone and speaker
- +Also pairs with a PC, Mac or phone over Bluetooth
- +Charges over USB-C
Cons
- −Stick drift is a widely reported problem after heavy use
- −About 10 hours per charge on the original model
- Type
- Controller
- Connection
- Bluetooth, USB-C cable
- Works with
- PS5, PC, Mac, phones

#2
PlayStation Portal Remote Player
by PlayStation
The Portal is the accessory PS5 owners ask about most, and it is more useful now than at launch. Since late 2025 it can stream some PS Plus Premium games from the cloud without a PS5, and the March 2026 update added a sharper 1080p streaming mode. TechRadar's updated review says the cloud update made it better than ever. It suits anyone who shares the living room TV or wants to play in bed.
It is still a streaming device, not a handheld. Weak Wi-Fi ruins it, and it plays audio only through PS Link or a wired headset, so Bluetooth earbuds will not work. The Pulse Explore below is the obvious match.
At about $249 from Amazon, it is at its usual price. Last year it fell to about $179 in the week before Black Friday.
Pros
- +8-inch 1080p screen
- +Full DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers on both grips
- +Streams some PS Plus Premium games from the cloud, no PS5 needed
- +Sharper 1080p High Quality streaming mode
Cons
- −Needs strong home Wi-Fi to play smoothly
- −LCD panel, not OLED
- −No Bluetooth audio: PS Link or wired only
- −Slow to charge
- Type
- Remote player, 8-inch LCD
- Connection
- Wi-Fi, PS Link, 3.5 mm jack
- Works with
- PS5, PS Plus Premium cloud

PlayStation Pulse Explore Wireless Earbuds (Midnight Black)
by PlayStation
This is the clearest saving on the page as we checked it. At about $128 from Amazon, the Pulse Explore is roughly $47 under its typical price of the past 90 days and at its lowest price of the past year. TechRadar said it could only recommend these earbuds at sale prices, and this is one.
Tom's Guide found they sound better than the Pulse Elite headset, and 91mobiles credited the in-ear seal for fuller bass. They connect over PS Link and Bluetooth at once, so you can take a call on your phone while playing on a Portal. That makes them the audio pick for Portal owners.
The battery is the weak point: Tom's Guide found it short, and the controls take learning. If you play long sessions, the Pulse Elite lasts much longer.
Pros
- +Planar magnetic drivers
- +PS Link and Bluetooth connected at the same time
- +Fuller bass from the in-ear seal
- +PS Link USB adapter included for PS5 and PC
Cons
- −Short battery life for an all-evening session
- −Confusing controls
- Type
- Wireless earbuds
- Connection
- PS Link, Bluetooth
- Works with
- PS5, Portal, PC, phones

#4
PlayStation DualSense Edge Wireless Controller
by PlayStation
The Edge is for competitive players and anyone who has already thrown away a drifting DualSense. Press Start called the replaceable stick modules its biggest strength: when a stick wears out, you swap the module instead of the controller. The back buttons and trigger stops help in shooters, and TechRadar described it as the best controller made slightly better.
The battery is the problem. Tom's Guide and GamesRadar+ both said it runs out much sooner than the standard DualSense, and GamesRadar+ wanted more than two back buttons. Casual players get more from a standard DualSense.
At about $199 from Amazon, it is at its usual price and not a deal. It dropped to about $160 in mid-November last year, which is where it starts to make sense.
Pros
- +User-replaceable stick modules
- +Two back buttons and adjustable trigger stops
- +Profiles you switch mid-game
- +Carrying case and braided USB-C cable included
Cons
- −Battery runs down much faster than a standard DualSense
- −Only two back buttons
- −Replacement stick modules are sold separately
- Type
- Pro controller
- Connection
- Bluetooth, USB-C cable
- Works with
- PS5, PC

PlayStation Pulse Elite Wireless Headset
by PlayStation
SoundGuys recommends the Pulse Elite for PS5, and its testing found about 49 hours from a charge, far beyond the Pulse Explore. The planar drivers give it detailed sound, the boom mic retracts out of sight, and it connects to a PS5 or Portal and a phone at the same time.
Comfort is the open question. TechRadar called it a superb PS5 headset, but Gizmodo found it uncomfortable and SoundGuys noted loose earcups and weak isolation. Try it within the return window.
We would not buy it now. At about $150 it is a few dollars under its typical price of the past 90 days, but the seller was a third party, not Amazon, and it sold for $109 at the end of May. Sony's new $99.99 Pulse Wireless Headset launches November 19, and Push Square calls it the Elite's successor. Wait for either a clearance price on the Elite or reviews of the new model.
Pros
- +Planar magnetic drivers
- +About 49 hours per charge in SoundGuys testing
- +Retractable boom mic
- +PS Link and Bluetooth connected at the same time
Cons
- −Fit and comfort split reviewers
- −Lets in a lot of outside noise
- −EQ settings only on the PS5
- Type
- Wireless headset
- Connection
- PS Link, Bluetooth
- Works with
- PS5, Portal, PC, phones

PlayStation Disc Drive for PS5 Digital Edition (slim)
by PlayStation
The Disc Drive is for owners of a slim PS5 Digital Edition or a PS5 Pro who want to play discs: used and sale games, or 4K Blu-ray films. It snaps onto either console, and Tom's Guide found fitting it easy. You need an internet connection once to pair it.
If you have not bought a console yet, buy the disc model instead. Tom's Guide pointed out that the drive costs more than the gap between the two consoles, so adding it later is the expensive route.
At about $79 from Amazon, it has not sold for less at any point in the past year. Do not expect a Black Friday cut; buy it when you need it and it is in stock.
Pros
- +Plays PS5 and PS4 discs, 4K Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD
- +Snaps onto the console in a few minutes
- +Fits both the slim Digital Edition and the PS5 Pro
Cons
- −Needs a one-time internet connection to pair with the console
- Type
- Add-on disc drive
- Connection
- Attaches to the console
- Works with
- PS5 Digital Edition (slim), PS5 Pro

How to choose PS5 deals this Black Friday
Buy a console only from Amazon itself, at Sony's list price or below. When we checked, the only new PS5 on Amazon came from third-party sellers at about $100 over list. Last year Sony's cuts started a week before Black Friday, so start watching about a week before November 27 and check the seller line before you pay.
Match your audio to where you play. The PS5 and the Portal do not play audio over Bluetooth, so ordinary wireless earbuds will not work on either. The Pulse Explore and Pulse Elite use Sony's PS Link and connect to both, plus your phone. A wired headset in the controller's 3.5 mm jack also works.
Choose a controller by how hard you play. The standard DualSense suits most players. The Edge is worth its price only if you play competitively or keep losing controllers to drift, and its battery needs more frequent charging.
Ignore the list price. The struck-through price on a PlayStation listing is often Sony's full price, which nobody pays at sale time. Judge a deal by what the Product sold for over the past 90 days and by last year's low, which we quote in every Pick.
Check the return window on gifts. Amazon usually extends returns for holiday purchases, but confirm the date on your order page. Headset comfort is personal, and a Portal bought for someone with weak Wi-Fi may come back.
How we chose these ps5 deals
Every deal on this page was selected and checked by Ed Hollinghurst. We start from products with a strong track record in independent reviews and owner feedback, then compare the current Black Friday price against the product's typical selling price over the past months, not just the inflated list price. A deal only makes the cut if the product is genuinely good and the discount is real.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon.com at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.
