Mattress brands do cut prices for Black Friday, but their list prices are so inflated that a struck-through number tells you very little. A month out, two Picks sell below their usual price: the Linenspa hybrid is about $25 under its 90-day average and at its 12-month low, and the Siena Signature is a few dollars under. Last year the Tuft & Needle Original and Purple Plus hit their lowest prices during Thanksgiving week.
Every price is for a queen; other sizes are on the same listing. We checked each against its Amazon selling price over the past 90 days and its 12-month low, not the list price.
Our picks at a glance
8 deals1.The hybrid most people should buy: firm edges, easy to move on, medium firm. At its usual price now; it sold for about $547 in late June.
2.Our all-foam pick for couples, with the best motion isolation NCOA tested. At its usual price now; it sold for about $552 in late June.
3.A firm, well-reviewed foam bed for back and stomach sleepers on a budget, a few dollars under its usual price and at its 12-month low.
4.A softer pillow-top hybrid for side sleepers. A little above its usual price from a third-party seller; it fell to $999 last fall.
5.A gel grid instead of memory foam, for pressure relief without the sink. About $220 over its usual price; it fell near $1,519 last Thanksgiving week.
6.Bouncy foam for back and stomach sleepers. Wait for a cut: it costs about $200 over its usual price and sold near $582 on Thanksgiving Day last year.
7.NapLab's best Amazon hybrid, with a thick comfort layer for hot sleepers. Close to its usual price from a third-party seller.
8.Coil support for a guest room or kid's room, about $25 under its usual price and at its lowest of the past year.
Our picks
#1Best overall
DreamCloud Classic Hybrid Mattress, Queen
by DreamCloud
The DreamCloud Classic is the mattress we would tell most people to buy. Tom's Guide named it its favorite mattress in a box this year, and RTINGS scored it 9.0 for edge support and 9.3 for responsiveness, so it is easy to sit on the side and easy to roll over on. Tom's Guide's testers found it closer to medium than DreamCloud's label suggests, which suits back and combination sleepers.
Lighter side sleepers who want deep cushioning should look at the softer Helix Midnight below. RTINGS also gave it only 5.5 for longevity, so read the warranty terms before you buy.
At $699 from Amazon, it costs about its 90-day average, so this is not a deal yet. It fell to about $547 in late June, and that is the price we would wait for.
Pros
- +Edge support scored 9.0 out of 10 by RTINGS
- +Responsive coils make it easy to change position
- +Build quality praised by Tom's Guide, pressure relief by AARP
- +RTINGS scored its cooling 7.8 out of 10

- −Some motion transfer between partners
- −Too firm for some side sleepers

#2
Nectar Classic 12-Inch Memory Foam Mattress, Queen
by Nectar
The Nectar Classic is our all-foam pick and the one for couples. NCOA found it isolated motion better than any other mattress it tested, so a restless partner is less likely to wake you, and its testers found good pressure relief in every position. AARP rated it the best value in its group. Ignore the "Firm Feel" in the Amazon title: Nectar's own description and the reviewers call it medium firm.
Hot sleepers and people who change position often should look at a hybrid instead. Foam this thick holds some heat and is slow to spring back, and the edges give when you sit on them.
Like the DreamCloud, it costs $699 from Amazon, right at its 90-day average. It sold for about $552 in late June.
Pros
- +Best motion isolation of any mattress NCOA tested
- +Pressure relief in every sleeping position
- +One-year trial named on the Amazon listing
Cons
- −Holds some heat
- −Slow to spring back when you change position
- −Edges soften when you sit on the side
- −Cover is not removable
- Type
- All-foam
- Height
- 12 in
- Comfort layer
- Memory foam
- Best for
- Couples, all positions

#3Best budget
Siena Signature 10-Inch Memory Foam Mattress, Queen
by Siena
The Siena Signature is the mattress we would buy on a budget for a bed you sleep on every night. Tom's Guide named it the best budget mattress in its 2025 awards, finding support you would expect from a far pricier bed, and Reviewed found good cooling and motion isolation. It is firm and fairly flat, which suits back and stomach sleepers.
Side sleepers, especially lighter ones, should expect it to feel too firm; TechRadar found little contouring. Reviewers also split on its edges and heat, with Sleep Foundation less impressed than Reviewed.
It is one of two Picks below its usual price as we checked. At $329 from Amazon it is only about $6 under its 90-day average, but that matches its lowest price of the past year.
Pros
- +Tom's Guide's best budget mattress of 2025
- +Firm, even support for back and stomach sleepers
- +Good cooling and motion isolation in Reviewed's testing
Cons
- −Too firm and flat for many side sleepers
- −Sleep Foundation found weak edges and some heat buildup
- Type
- All-foam
- Height
- 10 in
- Comfort layer
- Memory foam
- Best for
- Back and stomach sleepers

#4
Helix Midnight Mattress, Queen
by Helix
The Helix Midnight is our pick for side sleepers. A pillow top over zoned coils lets the shoulders and hips sink in while the middle stays supported, and Sleep Foundation rated it 9.5 out of 10 for side sleepers under 130 lb and 8 out of 10 for those from 130 to 230 lb. Tom's Guide, reviewing an earlier version, praised its motion isolation and temperature control.
Stomach sleepers and heavier back sleepers should skip it, because it is too soft to keep the hips level. For firmer support at a lower price, the DreamCloud Classic is the better buy.
At about $1,183 it costs a little more than its 90-day average, and the listing was sold by a third-party seller rather than Amazon when we checked. It dropped to $999 on October 31 last year, so a cut of that size is the one to wait for.
Pros
- +Pillow top cushions the shoulders and hips
- +Sleep Foundation rated it 9.5 out of 10 for side sleepers under 130 lb
- +Good motion isolation and temperature control in Tom's Guide testing
Cons
- −Too soft for stomach sleepers
- −Edge support could be firmer
- −Slow to respond when you turn over
- Type
- Hybrid
- Height
- 11.5 in
- Comfort layer
- Pillow top over zoned coils
- Best for
- Side sleepers

#5Best premium
Purple Plus Mattress, Queen
by Purple
The Purple Plus is the one to buy if you have tried memory foam and disliked the sinking feeling. Its 2-inch GelFlex Grid gives under the shoulders and hips and pushes back quickly, which Sleep Doctor credits for contouring without trapping you, and Tom's Guide included it in its guide to the best mattresses for back pain. Reviewers also find it cooler than foam beds, and Sleep Doctor recommends it for side sleepers under 230 lb.
The grid feels unusual, so try one in a store if you can. A queen weighs around 109 lb, which is a two-person job up the stairs.
This is not a deal. A third-party seller had it at $2,099 when we checked, about $220 above its 90-day average. It fell to about $1,519 the day before Thanksgiving last year, and that is the price to watch for.
Pros
- +GelFlex Grid relieves pressure without a sinking feel
- +Quick bounce-back makes turning over easy
- +Cooler than most foam beds
- +Suits side sleepers under 230 lb in Sleep Doctor's testing
Cons
- −A queen weighs around 109 lb
- −The grid feel is unusual and not for everyone
- Type
- Foam with gel grid
- Height
- 11 in
- Comfort layer
- 2-inch GelFlex Grid
- Best for
- Side and back sleepers

#6
Tuft & Needle Original Mattress, Queen
by Tuft & Needle
The Tuft & Needle Original suits back and stomach sleepers who want foam without the slow sink of memory foam. Its adaptive foam has more bounce, NCOA gave it 4.5 out of 5 for motion isolation, and Reviewed called it the best foam mattress for the money. Sleepopolis rated its firmness 6 out of 10, a touch softer than medium firm.
The edges are its weak point and the most consistent complaint in reviews. Lighter side sleepers will find it too firm, and Tom's Guide's warmest testers did not find it cooling.
We would not buy it at its current price. At $995 from Amazon it costs about $200 more than its 90-day average, and it sold for about $582 on Thanksgiving Day last year. If it does not come down, the Siena gives back and stomach sleepers similar support for far less.
Pros
- +Bouncy adaptive foam without deep memory-foam sink
- +Motion isolation rated 4.5 out of 5 by NCOA
- +Even support for back and stomach sleepers
Cons
- −Weak edge support, the most common complaint
- −Too firm for lighter side sleepers
- −Tom's Guide's warmest testers did not find it cooling
- Type
- All-foam
- Height
- 10 in
- Comfort layer
- Adaptive gel foam
- Best for
- Back and stomach sleepers

#7
Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid Mattress, Queen
by Brooklyn Bedding
The CopperFlex Pro is our pick for hot sleepers. NapLab named it the best hybrid on Amazon, finding strong cooling, good pressure relief from a thick comfort layer and little motion transfer for a coil bed. It suits sleepers who wake up warm on foam and want a thicker comfort layer than the DreamCloud has.
At 14 inches it needs deep-pocket sheets, and NapLab found it less bouncy and a little slow to respond. It also has only a handful of Amazon ratings, so there is little owner feedback on how it holds up.
At $999 from a third-party seller, it sits about $14 above its 90-day average. Its lowest price of the past year was about $932 in February, so any Black Friday price below that would be a real saving.
Pros
- +Strong cooling in NapLab's testing
- +Thick comfort layer for pressure relief
- +Little motion transfer for a coil bed
Cons
- −14-inch profile needs deep-pocket sheets
- −Less bounce, and a little slow to respond
- −Only a handful of Amazon ratings so far
- Type
- Hybrid
- Height
- 14 in
- Comfort layer
- Copper-infused foam
- Best for
- Hot sleepers

#8
Linenspa 10-Inch Hybrid Mattress, Queen
by Linenspa
The Linenspa 10-inch hybrid is the mattress for a guest room, a kid's room or a first apartment. It puts steel coils under a memory foam top for the price of a cheap foam bed. Tom's Guide calls it one of the best hybrids for a tight budget and recommends the 10-inch over the thinner 8-inch for adults, and one of its testers found it comfortable for stomach sleeping.
The comfort layer is thin and durability is unproven for nightly use, so for your own bed the Siena is the better buy.
This is the clearest saving here. At about $263 from Amazon, it is roughly $25 under its 90-day average and at its lowest price of the past year. If a holiday guest is coming, check the delivery date before you order.
Pros
- +Steel coils under a memory foam top
- +Medium feel that suits most guests
- +A Tom's Guide tester found it comfortable for stomach sleeping
Cons
- −Thin comfort layer
- −Durability is unproven for nightly use
- −Tom's Guide found the edges lacking on the 8-inch model
- Type
- Hybrid
- Height
- 10 in
- Comfort layer
- Memory foam
- Best for
- Guest and kids' rooms

How to choose a mattress this Black Friday
Start with how you sleep. Side sleepers need cushioning at the shoulders and hips, so look at the Helix Midnight or Purple Plus. Back sleepers do well on the DreamCloud Classic or Nectar Classic, and stomach sleepers need a firmer bed like the Siena Signature or Tuft & Needle Original so the hips do not sag.
Choose foam or coils for the problem you have. If a partner's movement wakes you, an all-foam bed like the Nectar Classic isolates motion best. If you sleep hot, sit on the edge of the bed a lot or are a heavier sleeper, a hybrid such as the DreamCloud Classic or CopperFlex Pro is the better fit.
Judge firmness by the reviews, not the listing title. Firmness labels on Amazon are inconsistent: the Nectar Classic's title says firm, while Nectar and reviewers call it medium firm. Independent testers' firmness ratings are a better guide.
Ignore the list price. Mattress brands run near-permanent sales, so a struck-through price says little. Compare with what the bed sold for over the past 90 days and its 12-month low, which every Pick quotes. Several of these beds were cheaper in late June or during Thanksgiving week last year than they are now.
Check the seller, the trial and the delivery date. Three Picks were sold by third-party sellers when we checked. Confirm the seller is the brand or Amazon, and read the trial and return terms on the listing, because those terms decide if you can send back a mattress you have slept on.
How we chose these mattress deals
Every deal on this page was selected and checked by Ed Hollinghurst. We start from products with a strong track record in independent reviews and owner feedback, then compare the current Black Friday price against the product's typical selling price over the past months, not just the inflated list price. A deal only makes the cut if the product is genuinely good and the discount is real.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon.com at the time of purchase will apply to the purchase of this product.
