Five of the six snow blowers below hit their lowest Amazon price of the past 12 months between mid-November and Cyber Monday last year. Four weeks before Black Friday, only one is clearly cheaper than usual: the Snow Joe 24V-X2-SB18 is about $74 under its 90-day average. The EGO SNT2405, the PowerSmart and the Greenworks 80V cost more than they have averaged over the past 90 days.
We checked every price against what each blower sold for on Amazon over the past 90 days and its lowest price of the past year, not its list price. Where a Pick is not discounted or is sold by a third-party seller, we say so. Toro and Ryobi are missing because we found no mainstream Amazon listing for either brand's snow blowers.
Our picks at a glance
6 deals1.Two batteries, an 18-inch path and LED lights for short driveways and walks. About $74 under its 90-day average from a third-party seller.
2.The battery two-stage with the strongest test record, batteries included. Not a deal now: it sold for $1,249 in Thanksgiving week last year.
3.Two-stage gas power for long or gravel driveways and big storms. Above its usual price now; it fell to about $510 last November.
4.A 20-inch blower for Greenworks 80V owners, with big rear wheels. Above its usual price; it sold for about $252 last Cyber Monday.
5.The cheapest Pick, for decks, steps and short walks. At its usual price, about $27 above its low last November.
6.EGO's XP two-stage, Family Handyman's top electric blower, sold without batteries. For owners who already have EGO 56V batteries.
Our picks
#1Best overall
Snow Joe 24V-X2-SB18 48V 18-Inch Cordless Snow Blower
by Snow Joe
Our top Pick is a compact cordless blower with two batteries in the box, which covers what most suburban driveways and sidewalks need. Bob Vila named this 48V Snow Joe the best single-stage electric in its snow blower roundup and the best value among cordless models, crediting its light frame, LED lights and swiveling chute. This listing also bundles a cover and a scraper.
Skip it if your storms bring wet, heavy snow or you have a gravel drive. Testers found it clogs in slush, and its plastic paddles chip on hidden rocks; the PowerSmart below handles both.
At about $360 from a third-party seller, it is roughly $74 under its 90-day average, the clearest saving on this list. It fell to about $300 in Thanksgiving week last year, so that is the price to watch for.

EGO Power+ SNT2405 24-Inch Two-Stage Snow Blower Kit
by EGO
If you get deep snow and do not want a gas engine, this is the battery blower with the strongest test record. Bob Vila scored it 9 out of 10, reported throws past 50 feet and found the self-propelled drive strong, and LawnStarter names it its best battery two-stage. It suits long driveways in states where a foot of snow is routine.
The drawbacks show up after a big storm: the 7.5Ah batteries come off hot and must cool before they will charge, and a full recharge takes a while. Assembly is heavy work, too.
This is not a deal. A third-party seller had it at about $2,100 when we checked, more than $70 above its 90-day average and roughly $850 more than its low in Thanksgiving week last year. We would wait.
Pros
- +Threw snow more than 50 feet in Bob Vila's test
- +Self-propelled with variable drive speeds
- +Two 7.5Ah batteries and a charger included
- +LED light for clearing in the dark
Cons
- −Heavy, with a long assembly
- −Batteries must cool after a hard run before they charge
- −Drive lever is slow to respond

- Two-stage

- 24 in
- Power
- 56V battery

#3
PowerSmart 24-Inch 212cc Two-Stage Gas Snow Blower
by PowerSmart
The gas Pick is for long, wide or gravel driveways and storms that drop a foot or more. Bob Vila named it the best value in its snow blower roundup, and it is the only gas machine on this list: no batteries to run down halfway through a long driveway.
It needs gas, oil and an end-of-season routine, and owners report two recurring problems: missing parts in the box and plastic drive gears that wear out. Bob Vila also found it loses grip on ice and steep slopes. Check the box contents the day it arrives, while a return is simple.
A third-party seller had it at about $750 when we checked, close to $50 above its 90-day average. It sold for about $510 in mid-November last year, and that is the price we would hold out for.
Pros
- +Two-stage auger for deep snow and plow ridges
- +Self-propelled drive
- +Push-button electric start
- +Chute turns 180 degrees
Cons
- −Owners report missing parts on delivery
- −Owners report plastic drive gears that fail
- −Loses traction on ice and steep slopes
- −Needs gas, oil and seasonal maintenance
- Type
- Two-stage
- Clearing width
- 24 in
- Power
- 212cc gas, electric start
- Batteries
- None (gas)
- Self-propelled

Greenworks 80V 20-Inch Brushless Snow Blower
by Greenworks
This one is for households that already run Greenworks 80V mowers or leaf blowers and have batteries on the shelf. Bob Vila named it the most efficient battery blower in its electric snow blower roundup and liked the 8-inch rear wheels, which ride over deep snow instead of sinking into it. It also steers easily for a 20-inch machine.
The 2.0Ah battery in this kit is small for a full driveway, so plan on a larger 80V battery if you do not own one. Bob Vila found it clogs in wet, heavy snow; the EGO SNT2405 is the battery step up.
It is not discounted. At about $485 from Amazon it costs about $35 more than its 90-day average, and it sold for about $252 on Cyber Monday last year, so we would wait.
Pros
- +8-inch rear wheels ride over deep snow
- +Easy to steer
- +Brushless motor
- +Battery fits Greenworks 80V yard tools
Cons
- −Small 2.0Ah battery in the kit
- −Clogs in wet, heavy snow
- −Underpowered for large driveways
- Type
- Single-stage
- Clearing width
- 20 in
- Power
- 80V battery
- Batteries
- One 2.0Ah included
- Self-propelled
- No

#5Best budget
Greenworks 40V 16-Inch Snow Blower (SN40B410)
by Greenworks
The cheapest Pick is for decks, steps, patios and short walks, where a full-size blower is more machine than you need. Pro Tool Reviews found it handles those jobs well and pointed driveway owners to something bigger, which is our advice too if you have more than a couple of car lengths to clear. The 5.0Ah battery fits Greenworks' 40V yard tools.
Its 16-inch path means a lot of passes on anything larger, and the small intake struggles once snow gets deep. The Snow Joe at the top of this list is the step up.
At about $277 from Amazon it sits right at its 90-day average, so it is not a deal yet. It fell to about $250 a week before Thanksgiving last year.
Pros
- +Compact enough for decks, steps and patios
- +5.0Ah battery and charger included
- +Battery fits Greenworks 40V yard tools
Cons
- −Narrow 16-inch path
- −Small intake struggles in deep snow
- −Not built for a full driveway
- Type
- Single-stage
- Clearing width
- 16 in
- Power
- 40V battery
- Batteries
- One 5.0Ah included
- Self-propelled
- No

#6Best premium
EGO Power+ SNT2410 24-Inch XP Two-Stage Snow Blower (Tool Only)
by EGO
Family Handyman named EGO's XP two-stage its best electric snow blower; it was the only two-stage machine in that test, and it cleared heavy snow. It suits big driveways in heavy-snow states, for owners who already have EGO 56V batteries from a mower or leaf blower.
Read the listing carefully: this is the bare tool, with no batteries or charger. If you do not own EGO batteries, the SNT2405 kit above is the more complete box. It is heavy, and with about 30 Amazon ratings it has a thin owner record so far.
At $1,319 from Amazon it is a few dollars under its 90-day average, close to its usual price. It sold for about $1,266 in mid-August.
Pros
- +Family Handyman's best electric snow blower
- +Cleared heavy snow in Family Handyman's test
- +Self-propelled two-stage
- +Runs on EGO 56V batteries you may already own
Cons
- −Batteries and charger sold separately
- −Heavy to move and store
- −Few Amazon owner ratings so far
- Type
- Two-stage
- Clearing width
- 24 in
- Power
- 56V battery
- Batteries
- Not included
- Self-propelled
- Yes

How to choose a snow blower this Black Friday
Match the stage to your snow. Single-stage blowers such as the Snow Joe and both Greenworks models use one auger that scrapes the pavement and throws the snow. Consumer Reports suggests battery single-stage machines for storms up to about 6 inches. If you regularly get more, or wet snow and plow ridges, buy one of the two-stage EGOs or the PowerSmart.
Size the path to the driveway. A 16- or 18-inch path suits walks, decks and a one- or two-car driveway. On a wide or long driveway, a 24-inch two-stage cuts the number of passes, and its self-propelled drive does the pushing.
Count the batteries. Runtime is what limits a battery blower, so check how many batteries come in the box and their capacity. The EGO SNT2410 includes none, and the Greenworks 80V kit's 2.0Ah battery is small. If you already own a brand's mower or leaf blower, its batteries usually fit that brand's blower on the same voltage.
Keep single-stage blowers off gravel. A single-stage auger touches the ground and will throw stones. Two-stage blowers usually ride on adjustable skid shoes above the surface, which is why the PowerSmart is our gravel pick.
Ignore the list price and check the seller. Judge a deal by the 90-day average and 12-month low we quote in each Pick. Several of these listings were sold by third-party sellers when we checked, so look at the seller name and the return window before you order something this heavy.
How we chose these snow blower deals
Every deal on this page was selected and checked by Ed Hollinghurst. We start from products with a strong track record in independent reviews and owner feedback, then compare the current Black Friday price against the product's typical selling price over the past months, not just the inflated list price. A deal only makes the cut if the product is genuinely good and the discount is real.
